Rescue Workers pledge: Give me the helpless, the lost, the homeless wee ones struggling just to live, the innocent refuse of an uncaring land. Send these, the weak abandoned lives to me - I offer warmth, care, hope and love.....

Rosie’s litter of four kittens have all died from Viral Pneumonia. She is confused and I am angry. Rosie was someone’s pet, then she either grew out of the cute little kitten stage or got pregnant, it doesn’t matter what excuse is used. The point is if she had been spayed how many traumas could have been avoided? This is a prime example of why I do not get excited when people write to tell me of their kittens – because they "wanted"  them. They always have "good" homes lined up. I’m reasonably certain Rosie went to a "good" home and I’m also sure while she was there she was treated alright – fed and such but how good is a home where they don’t spay? Lets not even talk about the dumping. If you MUST allow your cat to reproduce, please don’t tell me about it. I see kittens every day – many of them in states of illness. Please work with the rescue groups in your area. Trap and alter every single cat you see. We really can cut down on these needless deaths.

On a happy note the Orphans are doing well. I bathed them on Tuesday and after blow drying Casey I was carrying him to his bed and kissed him – he bit me! On the lip. Now he doesn’t have any teeth yet but he sure does have hard gums! My lip is swollen and bruised but I had to laugh at him. Such a ferocious little tiger.
